Janet makes beautiful and durable Adire clothing and is passionate about entrepreneurship and mental health. Here, we talked about her experience using MyTherapist.ng and her thoughts on therapy. Enjoy.
I’m Janet Noah, a 300-level Radiography student at the University of Uyo and a textile designer. I run an Adire business that serves customers with durable Adire clothes. I love public speaking, and I’m always set to talk to students about entrepreneurship and school. I’m also a freelance writer who works with different companies to tell stories and create compelling content. I’m passionate about reading books and volunteering. I love volunteering and helping people out. One interesting thing about me is I enjoy working hard; I believe I must work hard for the things I need.
I heard about MyTherapist.ng from Twitter.
I knew I needed to see a therapist when everything seemed to be spiralling out of my control. Nothing was working, and I felt deeply exhausted. I’d also seen a long list of doctors, but I still didn’t feel well.
No, I didn’t. I’ve always been a firm believer in mental health. I even volunteer at Parigoriá. I’ve always believed that if you need help, all you have to do is ask for help. It also made a lot of sense to me to talk to someone who’s skilled and experienced in helping me.
This is a tricky one, honestly, because I remember going through the list on the app and having a hard time choosing a therapist. Well, I prayed first, then I checked the description and areas of expertise of the therapists and chose the one that fit me best. I considered their pricing as well, because I’m a student, and I wanted to pick something I could afford frequently, every time I needed it.
She (Ejiro Ubierohwo) is godsent. She met my needs at EVERY point. She was also understanding and very encouraging. I loved that she listened to me and provided the best solutions for me.
My first session was scary; I was tired of letting people into my life. However, we settled in and got talking on a video call. She assured me everything was under control and she was there to help me. I ended the session with much more peace than I started it.
On a scale of 1-10, I say 8. The app was easy to navigate, and I could easily find the things I needed.
MyTherapist.ng is equipped with professionals who offer great help to their patients, regardless of what they’re charging.
No, I have not, but I would love to.
Something that can help to ease panic attacks.
I’ll check them out.
The interface for the therapists’ profiles. It lags sometimes.
I will definitely recommend MyTherapist.ng to people. People think therapy is expensive, but with MyTherapist.ng, I got access to cheap therapy, and the app has been helping my life greatly since then.
None. I‘ve always been open to the many facets of mental health.
They should take an open-minded approach to solving their issues without having negative thoughts or doubts about whether therapy works or not; it does.
